Learn how to properly use theMcKesson Brands Safety Hypodermic Needles and Syringes线。

McKesson Prevent’s safety hypodermic needles and syringes feature the latest developments in safety needle technology, including three-way activation, industry standard bubble up needle technology and a dual reinforced safety hub that helps protect end users.

Having the right needles is essential. McKesson Prevent® provides a safe and easy-to-use option with three-way safety activation and bubble up needle technology that helps clinicians and patients have a more comfortable experience.

Here's what makes McKesson Prevent® a great option for your setting:

  • Safety mechanisms include a lock for both the needle and the hub and are designed to help secure the safety in place and minimize possibility of removal.
  • Most safety syringes can be activated two ways, while McKesson Prevent® offers three ways to activate the safety mechanism.
  • Clinicians can choose how they activate the safety mechanism using their finger, thumb or hard surface as dictated by the clinical situation.

The McKesson Prevent® is intended for use in the aspiration and injection of fluids for medical purposes. The McKesson Prevent® needle is compatible for use with standard luer slip and luer lock syringes. Additionally, after withdrawal of the needle from the body, the attached needle safety sheath can be manually activated to cover the needle immediately after use to minimize the risk of accidental needle stick.

Instructions for use:

  1. Tighten the syringe to the needle. Using the aseptic technique, grip the base of the needle, not the safety sheath, and turn the syringe clockwise.
  2. Move the safety sheath away from the needle and toward the syringe barrel to the angle shown prior to removing the needle cap, select and prepare the injection site, then perform the injection.
  3. After the injection procedure, use a one-handed technique to activate the safety mechanism using any of the three methods: finger activation, thumb activation or hard surface activation. Activation is verified by an audible and or tactile click and can be visually confirmed.
  4. Visually confirm that the safety sheath is fully engaged.
  5. Dispose of used needles and materials following the policies and procedures of your organization, as well as federal and local regulations for sharps disposal.
